Professor John R. Palisano is featured in a CNBC news article “Deadly Ebola”

Professor John R. Palisano in the Department of Biology was recently featured in a CNBC news article entitled "Deadly Ebola spreads – and so do fears.” The article focuses on the latest outbreak of Ebola virus and the difficulty that global healthcare organizations are experiencing in their efforts to contain it. Palisano is quoted as saying “…that the outbreak is particularly dangerous because it is occurring along a major hub of travel in western Africa.” There isn’t a cure or vaccine for Ebola virus infections, which have a mortality rate close to 90%.  "It's frightening and in some respects more so than HIV, because it has a high mortality rate and kills within days of infection," said Palisano.
