Freshmen Simey Emerson and Taylor Morris, who worked with Dr. Nancy Berner on her NSF-funded research project during summer 2012, attended the annual meeting of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) January 3 – 7, 2013 in San Francisco, CA. Their poster was titled: Effect of diet lipids on measures of seasonal acclimation in the Eastern red spotted newt (Notophthalmus viridescens viridescens).

According to the SICB website,  "SICB fosters research, education, public awareness and understanding of living organisms from molecules and cells to ecology and evolution. SICB encourages interdisciplinary cooperative research that integrates across scales, and new models and methodologies to enhance research and education."
